a new start.
2024, i deliberately decided to pursue admission to the master of urban innovation program at the university of toronto, aiming for entry in 2026.
with a background rooted in business and information technology, i pivoted my career by enrolling in an urban planning course, strategically fulfilling the prerequisites necessary to transition into this new field.
the course i enrolled in was geog 4130 planning suburbs. this was the last course outside of my major.
throughout the course, i gained extensive insights into suburban development and urban planning, closely examining the environmental impacts of suburban expansion and comparing urban strategies across north america and europe.
with all the advice and feedback from @prof.laura.e.taylor, i conducted a detailed analysis of how urban planning decisions influence housing quality, accessibility, transportation efficiency, and vulnerability to environmental risks by contrasting the social inequality and economic disparity in seoul through the movie parasite.
thank you for the support and encouragement that motivated me to pursue this academic and professional path.
